Oldest Review – What is Reverb?

We see Reverb (short for reverberation) everywhere. From bathrooms, living room, dining room to theaters, caves. Reverb place also, more or less. Unless one single room in the world is designed to eliminate the reflected sound is almost absolute. Believe me, you will not want (and do not dare) into that room where!

Reverb is all natural reflex sound produced when sound waves strike the sound reflecting surface (eg cliff in a cave) and is reflected.

Parameters Time

Decay (alternatively known Reverb Time)

Decay is tell us how long the Reverb will disappear (usually measured in seconds). This is one of the most important parameters of the Reverb because it most easily recognizable by ear. Therefore, if the setting is not careful, it will be easy to make opaque mix.

My Tip:

When mixing vocal or solo instrument in the ballad, you just use the Pre-Delay wise to push them deeper in the mix without taking much Reverb, easy to damage the mix.
Unless you want to design the space surreal, Pre-Delay should establish safety in approximately 20ms – 200ms (ms = milliseconds = 1/1000 second)

Damping / Frequency Absorbtion – sound absorbance

In sound, the sound waves at high frequency (listen above) have lower energy sound waves at low frequencies (bass hear more).

With Reverb, parameter Damping (with a recording device is Absorbtion) to help you adjust the high frequencies are absorbed more or less. Consequently Reverb create secret or open, warm or cold.
